In order to enjoy Sky+ HD consumers need to have a compatible HDTV, a Sky+ HD box and the relevant Sky subscriptions. Sky+ HD offers 19 HD channels: Sky Sports HD 1, Sky Sports HD 2, Sky Box Office 1 HD, Sky Box Office 2 HD, Sky Movies Premiere HD, Sky Movies Screen 1 HD, Sky Movies Screen 2 HD, Artsworld HD, National Geographic HD, Discovery HD, The History Channel HD, Channel 4 HD, BBC HD and Eurosport HD.
There are currently 465,000 households already enjoying the superior viewing experience offered by Sky HD, with 18 dedicated linear channels offering over 7000 hours of HD content each month, over twice the standard definition output of the five main terrestrial channels.
The Sky+ HD box costs £150 with a £10 per month subscription charge for viewing the Sky+ HD channels. This £10 charge is in addition to the customer's regular Sky digital subscription.
